If you’re me, you find all Jennifer Simone’s rhetoric about affirmance, healing, etc., kind of off-putting, if not actively annoying. But then you hear the music: bari sax over loops, often. It bops. Really good stuff.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, eclectic New American at As You Are. Streaming at home, have a Cincinnati: pour a pint glass half-full of a very flavorful beer. Top with soda water. (This sounds like it can’t be good. But it is.) (Be sure to use a really full-flavored beer, though.)
