In the great tradition of the Koppel fils brothers, Øyvind Torvund is legitimate Scandinavian composer who also plays in bands. His music can be sweet — sometimes winkingly so, as on his mock-Exotica album — but there’s a lot that’s pungent, too. He’ll be played by a gaggle of local New Music and Alt Classical luminaries, including JACK and Yarn/Wire. Very highly recommended.
