Saxophonist Caroline Davis says that her intent with this fabulous band is to texturalize mourning and ancestral communication. But what’s amazing is that this music sort of actually does that.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, hand rolls at KazuNori. Streaming at home, have a Morning Glory: pour 1 oz. each of Rye and Cognac, 1/2 tsp. Grand Marnier, 1/8 tsp. Absinthe, and 1 tsp. Simple Syrup, with 2 dashes of Angostura bitters (or Boker’s, if you happen to have some), into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Highball glass. Top with club soda. Express a lemon twist into the drink and throw in as a garnish.
