Taking off from Loïe Fuller’s Serpentine Dance — a foundation of Modern Dance, the kind of nonsense we needed Post-Modernism to rescue us from — Ola Maciejewska names this piece after the silkworm (that what’s a bombyx mori is), the generator of the fabric that loomed large in Fuller’s swirling creation. There’ll be archival visual material (I linked some a few lines ago), and a consideration of the implications of the fact that silkworms no longer exist in the wild but are entirely dependent on humans for their survival (isn’t that also true of cows? when do they get a dance?).
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Way upscale Hong Kong Chinese at Hutong.
