I don’t usually List fundraisers priced substantially higher than what the producing organization usually charges. Not that I begrudge NFPs’ attempts to raise money, God knows. But the value in the higher prices usually lies in supporting the organization rather than in the show itself, and I don’t feel it’s This List’s place to recommend that. Free Jazz stalwarts Arts for Arts, however, usually charge such low prices — often nothing — that even when they hike the ticket prices up for a fundraiser, the $60 minimum entry fee is actually worth it in itself, considering the stellar array of Free Jazz players they’ve assembled.
