Violist Mat Maneri likes to describe his music as “activity within stasis”, but this listener finds more stasis than activity. Not that that bothers me. To the contrary: hell, I’m a Bruckner fan.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: In person, José Andrés Mediterranean at Zaytinya. Streaming at home, have a Charlie Chaplin: pour 1 oz. each of Sloe gin, apricot brandy, and lime juice into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a lime twist.
