mayfield brooks: Whale Fall

"Whale Fall" denominates the process whereby dead sperm whales decay and fall to the bottom of the sea (bummer) where the decaying carcass provides nutrients for deep-sea creatures (yay!). Performance artist mayfield brooks's video runs with the metaphor.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT: A whale of a cocktail, the Martinez: pour 1 oz. Old Tom Gin, 2 oz. sweet Vermouth, and 1 teaspoon Maraschino liqueur, with 2 dashes of Boker's Bitters, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
