Inspired by Deniece Williams's "Black Butterfly", Justin Hicks and Kenita Miller-Hicks of The Hawtplates put together a set of songs about, of all things, love, as a source of empowerment.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Phil Ward's Old Gal, a wonderful drink:  pour 1-1/2 oz. Rye and 1 oz. each of Vermouth Blanc and Campari into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.  Stir.  Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupe.  Garnish with an orange twist.
