Orrin Evans is as good and interesting a jazz pianist as you could hope to find.  He leads an excellent big band, he's in The Bad Plus — and he's great solo.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Now we'll all get into Harvard:  pour 1-1/2 oz each Brandy and sweet Vermouth into an ice-filled cocktail shaker, add a few dashes of Angostura Bitters, and stir.  Strain into a chilled Martini glass or coupé.  Top with club soda or soda water.  Garnish with a lemon peel.
