There is no question that the late Yukio Ninagawa was one of the titans of world theater.  When I saw his production of Shakespeare's Macbeth at BAM in 1990 (he brought an excellent revised production there in 2002, but this one sounds closer to that first), I felt like I had been punched in the stomach -- but also that I had experienced something of deep and haunting beauty.  Ninagawa had just overseen this revival when he died two years ago.  You should by no account miss it.
MAKE A NIGHT OF IT:  Since a friend just remarked to me how much she likes Boulud Sud, I guess I'll send you there again.  Non-clichéd pan-Mediterranean food (if you can imagine such a thing).
