These two bands led by saxophonist Elijah Shiffer are recommended because (a) improvising trio Genus Hallucigenia includes a theremin:  always fun; and (b) the Crown Heights Saxophone Quartet claims influences ranging from cartoon music to hard bop to English folk songs.
